Datacenter Engineering / Gas Conditioning & Fuel Spec

Wellhead gas conditioning and fuel spec engineering.

Raw associated gas from a separator rarely matches a high-efficiency reciprocating engine or turbine fuel spec out of the box. Heavy hydrocarbons (C3+ through C6+) raise the heating value above 1,350 BTU/scf and drop the Methane Number into knock territory; water vapor condenses in the fuel header on cold mornings; and sour gas pockets carry H2S that corrodes intercoolers and voids manufacturer warranties.

Process engineers who model extended gas chromatograph analyses in HYSYS or ProMax, size Joule-Thomson (JT) or mechanical refrigeration units (MRUs) to strip natural gas liquids, and specify H2S scavenger beds and coalescing filtration keep field power plants online. Tell Methane.Exchange your gas treatment discipline so we can bring you in when a qualified project needs fuel conditioning design.

Describe the gas conditioning systems, process simulations, and P&ID deliverables your firm handles. We read it and reply by email or phone with one or two questions. Nothing goes to anyone else without your permission.

Deliverables project parties frequently ask for:

  • Extended gas analysis (GPA 2286 / C6+) review against OEM fuel acceptance sheets (Methane Number, Wobbe Index, dew point).
  • Process simulation and sizing for JT skids, mechanical refrigeration units, NGL stabilization, and condensate storage.
  • H2S solid-bed scavenger or amine sweetening design, glycol dehydration, and fuel gas booster compression.
  • Custody-transfer metering P&IDs, overpressure protection (PSV) calculations, and hazardous area classification.
